Bangkok, Thailand
I wasn’t supposed to be there. A blocked road forced me to take a long detour, and by chance I stumbled upon this basketball court, wedged between houses and palm trees, behind a rusty fence.
The natural light was already beautiful. With the flash, I knew it would become strange. The palm trees, the backlight, that ball left all alone… It was absurd and poetic at the same time.
I had to stretch my arms over the fence, camera in one hand, flash in the other. It was a real struggle. But when I saw the image: magic. It became one of my favorite photographs.
That evening, I also lost my favorite cap.
But I gained an image I truly love.

Je n’étais pas censé être là. Une route bloquée m’a forcé à faire un long détour, et c’est par hasard que je suis tombé sur ce terrain de basket, coincé entre des maisons et des palmiers, derrière une barrière rouillée.
La lumière naturelle était déjà belle. Avec le flash, je savais que ça deviendrait étrange. Les palmiers, le contre-jour, ce ballon resté là tout seul… C’était à la fois absurde et poétique.
J’ai dû tendre les bras au-dessus de la barrière, l’appareil dans une main, le flash dans l’autre. Une vraie galère. Mais quand j’ai vu l’image : magie. C’est devenu l’une de mes photos préférées.
Ce soir-là, j’ai aussi perdu ma casquette fétiche.
Mais j’ai gagné une image que j’adore.

我原本不该在这里。一条封闭的道路迫使我绕了很远，结果偶然发现了这个篮球场，被房屋和棕榈树夹在中间，藏在一扇生锈的铁栅栏后。
自然光本身已经很美。有了闪光灯，我知道画面会变得奇异。棕榈树、逆光、那颗孤零零的篮球……既荒诞又诗意。
我不得不把手臂伸过铁栏杆，一只手拿相机，另一只手举着闪光灯。非常狼狈。但当看到画面时：魔力。它成了我最喜欢的照片之一。
那天晚上，我也弄丢了我最爱的帽子。
但我得到了一张让我真正着迷的照片。
