This road winds high up in L.A., on the other side of the Hollywood Sign, just steps away from a friend’s house. An almost invisible road, isolated, silent.
We are in Los Angeles, but it could be anywhere. There’s something Lynchian about it. A light too calm, a muted tension, a never-ending curve.
The photo was taken in 2016 or 2017. I cleaned it recently, reducing noise, sharpening the atmosphere.
It became a best-seller, and I understand why.

On est à Los Angeles, mais on pourrait être ailleurs. Il y a quelque chose de Lynch là-dedans. Une lumière trop calme, une tension sourde, un virage sans fin.
C’est une photo prise en 2016 ou 2017. Je l’ai nettoyée récemment, réduisant le bruit, redonnant de la netteté à l’atmosphère.
Elle est devenue un best-seller, et je comprends pourquoi.
