The Back Door
Behind the luxury mall, a small door stays lit for the people who make the place shine. Nobody photographs this side.

About this image
This photograph was made in Bangkok, behind a luxury shopping mall surrounded by high-end hotels and polished façades. What interested me was not the spectacular front of the city, but its hidden service area: a backstage space for workers, deliveries and maintenance, almost invisible from the public image Bangkok projects of itself.
The yellow door, caught inside a large pink wall and crossed by colder blue light, became a small point of human scale within an architecture of separation. I added a red-pink flash to intensify the existing blue cast and create a strange gradient across the wall. The image holds two realities at once: the seductive surface of wealth and the functional, isolated space behind it. Its beauty is not decorative to me; it comes from that contradiction — a back entrance transformed into a theatrical threshold, where the city briefly reveals what it usually hides.
Made in camera, with coloured flash on location. No AI.
